The theme of this Kozuka is Nami-chidori, Birds and Waves, The theme is Birds and Waves symbolizing overcoming difficult challenges as a couple/family. An inspiring theme. The craftsman, Kikuoka Mitsumasa, was the younger brother of Kikuoka Mitsuyuki and the disciple of Yanagawa Naomitsu, the 3rd Soke of the Yanagawa Tradition. He passed away in 1824 at the age of 66. This attractive Kozuka has passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu in 2021.
