The theme of this Kozuka is Reeds and Plover Birds aside a River. The size of this Kozuka is smaller than average and was likely used for a Wakizashi Koshirae with the same themed fittings. The craftsman, Hideharu, was active during the Late Edo Period and had a Swordsmith name of Tojoken.
