The theme of this Tsuba is Daki-Myoga (two Japanese ginger shoots), Karigane (wild geese) and Haze Sukashi. It is Mumei but has been attributed to the Owari Tradition. This Tsuba was crafted in Momoyama Period (before Edo Period) in the Owari Province. The features of this tradition is thicker on the rim (Nakabiuku Shape). You can see small Tekkotsu on the rim making a robust impression. Looking at this design, it is a bit different on each side. An impressive Owari Tsuba that has passed the Hozon Tosogu in 2023.
