Other Info
| This tsuba depicts a pattern of clouds and drums with lightning, and the god of thunder is absent. This is a Nikubori-jisukashi/relief engraving openwork tsuba that has been attributed to the Unshu[雲州]. There are two schools of tsuba makers in Izumo province: the Tani school of related to the Haruta[春田] school and the Kobayashi school of the Choshu style. This work is a Haruta-style Nikubori-jisukashi/relief engraving openwork tsuba with an old-fashioned style rather than an elaborate one. Passed the Hozon shinsa in 2023. |
