This swordsmith, Norikatsu, was a samurai in the Mito Clan and was born in 1809 in Mito. He was a disciple of Norimune and later, after moving to Edo, he became the disciple of Hosokawa Masayoshi, Koyama Munetsugu and Unju Korekazu from whom he learned their secret forging methods. He passed away in 1872 at the age of 64. His swords highly appreciated among the samurai in the Mito Clan since they were forged for practical use. This Wakizashi has the typical features of Norikatsu Masame Hada. An outstanding blade with strong features that has passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Token in 2024. It comes with a Toppei style Koshirae with silver fittings and a black lacquer Saya
