| The theme of this Kozuka is something coming out of a half-opened clam shell and showing a landscape or tower is referred to as Shinkiro or Mirage in English. In the old days, it was said that giant clams created mirages giving illusions of landscapes on the surface of the sea. The craftsman, Hamano Norimasu, later changed his name to Hamano Noriyuki 2nd generation. He was the son of the first generation. He was born in 1771 and passed away in 1852. This Kozuka has passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu in 2023. |
